Bishop Hubbard And His "Gay and Lesbian" Friends and Supporters

We're going to start this post with an announcement from an Albany Diocesan Church Bulletin.  This is a scan of the actual posting in a ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH'S Bulletin.  I wanted to repeat that because what will follow is absolutely going to bring into doubt the CATHOLIC origins of this "Bishop".

The Announcement:

The following articles come from Catholic Culture and Life Site News and Catholic Vote.  You will find many different articles concerning this topic at these sites.

First, Catholic Culture:

Catholic Association for Lesbian and Gay Ministries

The Catholic Association for Lesbian and Gay Ministries - "CALGM" (formerly the National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries - NACDLGM) was formed in 1994. Its self-stated mission reads thus: "Inspired by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and grounded in the Catholic moral and social justice tradition, the National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries, as a resource and network, encourages pastoral care with lesbian and gay persons and their families." Unfortunately, what this organization offers is directly contrary to true pastoral care. Rather than ministering to those with same-sex attractions, the NACDLGM only encourages a defiance of the Church's teachings. A better resource for this issue is the Courage website.

Review Ratings what do these ratings mean?

These statements were accurate as of 4/06/2010.  I see no reason to doubt the authenticity of this since Life Site News has an article on Bishop Hubbard stating the same thing as the notice.  And then we have Tom Peters of Catholic Vote who has this to say about Bishop Hubbard:

[Updated] Bishop Hubbard to Celebrate Mass for Dissenting Gay/Lesbian Group

What a difference a bishop makes. When the “Catholic” Association for Lesbian & Gay Ministry attempted to hold a fundraiser in a St. Paul-Minneapolis parish several months ago, Archbishop Niensted quickly put a stop to it.
When the same “Catholic” Association for Lesbian & Gay Ministry (CALGM) announces it will host its national conference in Albany, NY, Bishop Howard Hubbard agrees to celebrate Mass for them.
Bishop Hubbard turns 75 in a little over two years, but he seems intent on continuing to inflict pastoral damage on his diocese until he retires.
This is the same bishop who has publicly praised and gave Communion to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, approved the distribution of free needles by Catholic Charities to serial drug abusers, and through his position on the US Bishops’ committee on international justice and peace, puts Catholic endorsement behind horrible political proposals which will harm our fragile economy.
Bishop Hubbard’s association with the “Catholic” Association for Lesbian & Gay Ministry presents a scandal to members of his whole diocese, who are being dutifully informed of his activities in their parish bulletins (imagine having to explain this news item to your kids?). Numerous distressed Catholics from the diocese emailed me to alert me to this story. It’s not the first time they’ve found themselves in the position of trying to figure out what on earth their bishop is up to.
We need to keep praying for the Catholics of Albany that they will persevere until the time comes when they are granted better shepherds.
If you wish to contact Bishop Hubbard, you may do so (with charity) by emailing
UPDATE: Some folks in the comments are claiming I didn’t do enough research on CALGM. I just spent ten minutes more on this and here’s what I found (in addition to what I’ve posted on CALGM before):
Catholic Culture’s rating of the group’s website:
  • There is a consistent denial of the Church’s teaching on the objective sinfulness of homosexual acts. Example(s)
  • There is no mention on the site of the essential “call to chastity”. Example(s)
  • The links section includes many secular, pro-gay activist organizations.
The blog “Queering the Church” would “happily endorse a retreat” led by CALGM. ‘Nuff said.
For another peak into what CALGM actually does and how it distorts Catholic teaching, read this woman’s experience.
As I’ve written before, groups and individuals that dissent from the Church’s teaching on these issues are smart enough to hide it from plain view. The real damage happens in the actual encounters and private sessions they host (where they are careful to exclude persons who actually agree with the Church’s teaching).
I think it says a lot about what they are attempting to do when they are forced to be deceptive about how they accomplish it.
UPDATE 2: More from Kathleen Gilbert at LifeSiteNews:
One visible clash between [Catholic Alliance for Lesbian and Gay Ministry] and Catholic teaching took place in 2008, when the group invited then-coadjutor Bishop Jaime Soto of Sacramento to speak at their national conference – an invitation that the bishop accepted.
To organizers’ surprise, however, Soto took the opportunity to point out that any sexual activity outside marriage between a man and a woman is sinful.
“Sexual relations between people of the same sex can be alluring for homosexuals but it deviates from the true meaning of the act and distracts them from the true nature of love to which God has called us all. For this reason, it is sinful,” he said.
Following the speech, which met with mostly silence from the audience, a board member of the association told the crowd, “on behalf of the board, I apologize. We had no idea Bishop Soto was going to say what he said.”
What will Bishop Hubbard say, I wonder?

In the past, specifically in 2004, in the MJO Report on Pedophilia and Bishop Hubbard, questions have come about regarding his position.  It was quite obvious that there was nothing said about the Same Sex Marriage proposal that got passed in Albany this last legislative session except as a passing statement condemning the issue, but that was it.  In fact, our sources have gone so far as to chastise the entire group of Bishops in New York (save one) for not "coming out" shall we say, AGAINST "gay marriage".

We have reliable associates that "saw no priests lobbying in Albany against same sex marriage," and "saw no Catholic priests at the July 24 rally in Manhattan for traditional marriage in the Archdiocese of New York."
That really doesn't surprise me since Archbishop Dolan took a powder the week before the vote and of course there is his smiling face at the Mass at St Francis Xavier.( Dolan at "Gay" Mass )
There were Protestant ministers lobbying against same sex marriage and Orthodox Jews but no Catholic priests in Albany.  I wonder why that was?  A deal maybe, between the Bishops and Cuomo?

There were Protestant Evangelical ministers and Orthodox Jews marching for traditional marriage in Manhattan but no Catholic priests.  Maybe the reason for that was because they were told NOT to go...makes one stop and think, doesn't it.

It's no wonder our schools are turning out such terrible Catholics...with examples like this, the kids don't stand a chance to learn what is right if they wanted to.

More info on this?  Here is a link from well know Columnist and radio personalty Randy Engel.  This is a radio interview that "Shatters Litany of "Gay" Myths."‏ It was broadcast June 30, 2011 and is two hours long, but worth the listen.  Randy Engel Interview.

There will be much more coming.  A copy of the '04 report can be sent to you if you wish to e-mail the listed address on the Blog and give us a valid return address and we will gladly send it to you.  A word of caution.  It is long...500 plus pages.  It is extensive and really asks a lot of questions.  Every Catholic should have a copy of it and read it, just so you know what you are dealing with.

The "Catholic In Name Only" schools is New York State are among the worst offenders in the Country.  We will profile them as time goes on.  We just wanted to bring you up to date on our New York "Bishops".

More to come.

University of Dayton...Truly A Non-Catholic College...An Update

They don't even pretend to be Catholic.  Since when does a "Faith Professor" ( what does that mean, anyway?) at a "Catholic In Name Only" University get off criticizing a Bishop the Caliber of Bishop Chaput? But, then again, realizing where this guy comes from sort of puts it into perspective.  We have profiled this school before...many times before...( here) and ( here ) and ( here ) and ( here).  These links give you the WHOLE story about U of Dayton.  Now, this guy comes along and really proves my point...they truly are not Catholic.  Here is his statement as posted on The Cardinal Newman Society's  Blog.

In an op-ed for the Philadelphia Inquirer, David O’Brien, professor of faith and culture at Catholic University of Dayton, gives his rather negative point of view of Archbishop Chaput as the newly appointed leader of the Philadelphia Archdiocese.
From O’Brien’s op-ed:
It was announced last week that his [Cardinal Rigali's] successor will be Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver, one of America’s most outspoken Catholic conservatives. The appointment shows that the Vatican accepts the strange idea that the church’s problems in this country have come about because Catholics are too American – too tainted by America’s “culture of death” – and because U.S. bishops and priests are too sensitive to what lay people and non-Catholics think.
What is needed, the Vatican seems to believe, are leaders who “put the church first,” assert the authority of bishops and priests, and make no pastoral or political concessions on supposedly nonnegotiable Catholic teachings about abortion, homosexuality, and female priests.
This winter will see the introduction of a revised liturgy produced by the Holy See, whose handpicked committee made some 10,000 changes to the version approved by the vast majority of bishops in the English-speaking world. Locally, bishops and priests can make use of lay ministers and advisers, but they are required to make the difference between laity and priests very clear – as if this were somehow in doubt. Restoration of hierarchical and clerical power in the church, under the guise of “real Catholicism,” appears to be the order of the day.
Chaput fits this pattern. His promotion most likely came about because of the support of Americans with influence at the Vatican. The most powerful of these is Raymond Burke, now head of the Vatican’s highest court, who regularly makes the restorationist agenda clear. Chaput is cut from the same cloth as Burke, who launched the church’s continuing campaign to humiliate Catholic Democratic politicians when he denied Communion to a respected Catholic congressman, David Obey of Wisconsin, in 2003.
Chaput thought that was a great idea, and he made it clear that then-presidential candidate John Kerry should not appear at the Communion rail in his jurisdiction. He wrote a book arguing that real Catholics would reject John Kennedy’s famous distinction between his religion and his public service, and would always support legislative efforts to enforce Catholic moral teaching.
Like Burke, Chaput makes no secret of his disdain for outspoken Catholic reformers, especially women, and he played a leading role in reducing the influence and resources of the national bishops’ conference. Chaput is, in short, a company man – a churchman.
Like the Americans who serve at the Vatican, Chaput puts the institutional church first, and he seems to think everyone else should, too. According to this view, the church is not the “people of God” – a biblical idea restored by Vatican II that conservatives think has done much damage. For them, the church is the hierarchy, and especially the pope.

I guess the fact that The Pope is the Infallible Head of The Catholic Church doesn't mean a hill of beans to this "professor".  That's the "catholic education" coming from the University of Dayton.  I'm truly ashamed to call that place my Alma Mater.  Of course, when I went there, we had a Catholic Priest as the President, real "Faith Based" profs that new what they were teaching, and a school guided by the principles of Mary, the Mother of God.  No longer.

This guy goes on with more on the plight of the Maryknolls and their Fr. Roy Bourgeois upholding the heresy and blatant disrespect for the Catholic Church...

U Dayton Prof on Letter Defending Embattled Priest

The New York Times reported last Friday that 157 American priests have signed a statement in support of Fr. Roy Bourgeois “who faces dismissal for participating in a ceremony that purported to ordain a woman as a priest, in defiance of church teaching.”
The article quotes David J. O’Brien, who holds an endowed chair in faith and culture (?) at the Catholic,(?) Marianist University of Dayton, about the statement:

“They are saying, ‘We don’t have enough priests, we’re closing down parishes,’ … It’s a sign that the pastoral needs are sufficiently grave now that priests are speaking up and saying, ‘Wait a minute, you can’t just ignore the pastoral consequences of the things you do and say at the top.’ ”

Well, I guess there really isn't much more to say, is there?  Since the Archbishop of Cincinnati is too much of a coward to say or do anything, it will once again fall to the rank and file Faithful Catholic to petition Rome to have the University of Dayton stripped of it's Catholic Identity...after all, they are "Catholic in Name only" anyway.  They don't teach Catholicism.  (Does the Archbishop?)  What have they got to lose?

Read the other posts on this school and on Xavier in Cincinnati, then start a campaign to get rid of these non-Catholic Bishops that run your Diocese.  Ask God for help.  I know He listens...Rigali's leaving proves it.  Read our posts on "Pedophiladelphia". There are a lot of them and they make for very interesting reading.

Catholic Relief Services...Partners With The "Culture of Death." An "Intrinsic Evil."

The following article that I am going to post originated with Randy Engel at U.S. Coalition for Life.  It is pretty straightforward about what it contains.  It asks a question of Archbishop Dolan that he doesn't answer.  It puts the fact that this Agency supports Abortion, Euthanasia, Contraceptives, and Sterilization in the public venue: and it takes money from VERY well known groups that are then covered by the USCCB in their murdering of the unborn.(See Photos at side)
Please read it and then take action.  Let your local Parish know you will not support this Agency until it becomes Catholic again, if ever!  The only thing they understand is money.  Take it away and they fail.

Catholic Relief Services Forms Partnership with Death Peddlers
By Randy Engel, Director, U.S. Coalition for Life.

The CCHD scandal is about the USCCB GIVING Money to the Death Peddlers.
The CRS scandal is about the USCCB TAKING Money from the Death Peddlers.

On Thursday, January 7, 2010, the following e-mail concerning the “partnership” of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Howard G. Buffett Foundation was sent by the U.S. Coalition for Life to the Most Rev. Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CRS, and Thomas Price, CRS Senior Communications Manager:

"Can you tell me why Catholic Relief Services is in a partnership with two of the world’s greatest promoters of abortion and population control? Why the glowing promotion of two of the world’s most anti-life foundations? Randy Engel, Director, USCL".

The next day, the USCL received a response from Mr. Price which reads in part:

Thank you for your letter of concern on the Gates Foundation and the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. As an official agency of the Catholic Church, Catholic Relief Services strictly adheres to the teaching of the Catholic Church and the policies of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Our first Guiding Principle states that “all human life is sacred and possesses a dignity that comes directly from our creation and not from any action of our own, …” The Catholic Church often participates in humanitarian initiatives that include a large range of partners — and we do not always agree with everything they stand for. However, the work that is undertaken directly with any of our partners always strictly adheres to Church teaching. We do not provide or promote artificial birth control and would never accept funding from any donor that would compromise the agency’s adherence to Catholic teaching. …” Sincerely, Tom Price

According to the CRS official website (, the Gates Foundation is “guided by the belief that every life has equal value.” CRS praises the foundation’s work “to help all people lead healthy, productive lives,” and “to ensure that all people… have access to the opportunities they need to succeed in school and life. …” In exchange for perpetuating this glorious deception and maintaining a silence on the Gates/Buffett world-wide killing machine, CRS has received in excess of $40 million for global and agricultural development and financial services for the poor from 2003 to 2009. Compared to the billions Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett and his family spend on their true passion – baby killing and. population control – it’s a drop in the bucket, of course, but I’m sure they consider their money well spent. In reviewing the anti-life record of the Gateses and Buffetts, one they have successfully keep out of the public eye, thanks to organizations like CRS, it’s difficult to avoid the conclusion that “they never met an anti-life, anti-family enterprise that they did not love (and eventually fund).”

Starting with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation directed by the Gateses and fellow billionaire Warren Buffett, father of Howard G. Buffett., here is a sampling of the anti-life organizations and activities it has supported, with a brief commentary on each:
International Planned Parenthood Federation – $41,876,150 since 1998. Supports a total anti-life agenda world-wide. Organizes massive anti-life initiatives the world over.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America – $12,984,000 since 1998. Does not include millions for PP abortion centers in Gates’ home state of Washington and elsewhere. Performs over 200,000 surgical abortions per year and supports a full anti-life agenda including contraception, sterilization, abortifacients, live human embryo and fetal experimentation, sex education, divorce, fornication, infanticide, homosexuality, eugenics, infanticide, pornography, in vitro fertilization.
U.N. Fund for Population Activities and Americans for UNFPA – $56,681,272 in 2000. An indirect grant to UNFPA of $2,200,000,000 for “reproductive health” and mass population control programs.
Pathfinder International – $1,585,000 in 1999, 2009. Among top deadliest abortion providers, trains abortionists, procures abortion and sterilization equipment. Promotes “reproductive options” among adolescents.
International Projects Assistance Services – Promotes “sexual and reproductive rights.”
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Urban Reproductive Health Initiative – Pushes population control in Africa and South Asia.
Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health – $9,864,398 (2009-2011). Sponsors world-class population control conferences which push modern fertility control techniques, abortion and sterilization including female condoms, injectable abortifacients, and “menstrual regulation” kits.
Population Communications International – $3,775,000. Specializes in population control propaganda for mass media.
Family Health International – Specializes in mass sterilization and abortifacients and “menstrual regulation” kits.
Family Care International – $14,643,712. Seeks to promote and defend “abortion rights” and mass population control projects.
Stem Cell and Cloning Research – $400,000 donation for California campaign in favor of state supported programs of human embryonic stem cell research and cloning projects
EPF: The Inter-European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development – $1,598,245. To promote “reproductive health care” around the world. According to the EPF, “in February 2002 it signed up to the “See Change” campaign; an initiative started by Catholics For Free Choice with the objective of changing the status of the Vatican at the United Nations. Following this, the parliamentary groups in Sweden and Spain both held parliamentary hearings on the role of the Vatican City in UN decision-making and its obstruction of progress on reproductive health and rights issues.”
As a member of the elite Club of Rome, Bill Gates is dedicated to the war against the proliferation of people, but he has other side interests as well include the promotion of the vice of homosexuality. In 1989, Microsoft was one of the first companies in the world to offer employee benefits to same-sex domestic partners and to include sexual orientation in its corporate nondiscrimination policy. The company has supported and sponsored pro-gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trans-gender issues activities and programs including GLEAM, an organized employee resource group for homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals and trans-gender employees. As part of its Diversity Initiatives Program, GLEAM partners with Microsoft's executive leadership teams to define and implement corporate diversity initiatives company wide, such as the company's GLBT Pride Month celebration and GLBT-specific diversity training. In July 2007, Bill Gates used part of his Microsoft fortune to purchase 56.3% of PlanetOut, a homosexual activist publishing company that runs a number of “gay” publications and services and is a major provider of hard core homosexual pornography. Now, let’s turn our attention to the anti-life organization, services and research funded with the Warren Buffett billions:
Buffett money has funded important clinical trials for RU-486, (Mifepristone/Mifeprex), the so-called “abortion pill,” putting the lethal drug on the fast track in the U.S. and abroad.
• Two million dollars to Family Health International helped finance mass experimental sterilization programs in third world countries using the dangerous chemical quinacrine hydrochloride. The drug is banned in the U.S. and Canada.
Population Communications International – Specializes in population control propaganda for mass media.
German Foundation for World Population – Population control programs directed at youth “as agents of change.”
International Projects Assistance Services – Promotes sexual and reproductive rights. Buffett gave IPAS $20,000,000 for the manufacturer and distribution of manual abortion suction pumps for use in poor countries.
Population Council – $3,500,000. One of the oldest population control and abortion research agencies in the United States.
Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice – $700,000. Recruits and engages churches and clergy in supporting abortion rights.
NARAL – $1,500,000. A promoter of abortion rights in the United States.
Catholics for a Free Choice – $485,000. Money used to challenge and undermine Catholic opposition to abortion.
Center for Reproductive Rights – $737,000. Carries out pro-abortion litigation. Helped strike down Nebraska's ban on partial-birth abortion/infanticide.
National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy – $250,000. A pro-abortion group that targets teens.
Family Health International – $20,000,000. Specializes in mass sterilization and abortifacients and “menstrual regulation” kits and abortion vacuum aspirators.
Family Care International – Promotes abortion and mass population control projects.
Pathfinder International – $582,000. Promotes abortion rights and services.
Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation – Provides millions of dollars for abortion rights groups including many of the above groups.
Access Project – $496,000. Promotes abortion rights and services.
GIRE – $485,000. Promotes abortion rights and services in Mexico.
The record is clear – the hands of Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett are soaked with the innocent blood of millions of unborn children. The only question that remains is “Is the body count high enough for CRS to dump the death peddlers as donors?”

The objective of this mailing is to persuade the American Bishops, especially those who serve on the Board of Directors of CRS, to publicly reject any and all donations from the Gates and Buffett Foundations and any other corporation or government entity that funds and promotes anti-life, anti-family and anti-God programs, services, and research in the United States and abroad. The message is simple - “Just say no”…. to the death peddlers.
As with the scandal-ridden Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholics should withhold all funding of Catholic Relief Services until this blatant injustice is publicly corrected. The CRS National Diocesan Campaign is usually held on the 4th Sunday of Lent. This will give CRS officials time to take action. Unlike the CCHD, which should be disbanded, CRS, founded in 1943, has a long history of legitimate service to the Church especially in regard to refugee settlement and emergency disaster relief programs. The tragedy is that it has become just another compromised entity of the American Bishops’ national bureaucracy which systematically poisons everything it touches. The removal of the Bill and Melinda Gates and Buffett Foundations from the roster of CRS partners/donors list is important, but the problems with CRS run much deeper and are unlikely to be resolved by the liberal, leftist establishment and staff that runs and controls the USCCB. As things stands now, faithful Catholics need to look elsewhere for legitimate Catholic charities and missions to support.
The following is an appeal from USCL for help.  Please look at this as something you can do for "One of these, the least of My Bretheren."

Please send your letters, e-mails, and faxes asking Archbishop Timothy Dolan to take the lead in severing all CRS, and other USCCB agency ties with the Gates and Buffett Foundations. They are not the only anti-life partners that CRS has teamed up with, but they are the worst.

A list of bishops who serve on the Board of Directors of CRS is provided below. If your bishop is on that list, please make him your top priority. If not, please send your communication to:

"Pedophiladelphia"...The Last Chapter.

It's Official:  Chaput to Philly.  Let's see what happens now!

I want to Praise God to the rooftops and beyond!!!  Finally, Rome has had enough and "Cardinal Rigali is Resigning!!!"  Here is the article itself.  I pray we all had something good to do with getting rid of the "chafe" so the Bountiful Harvest can once again begin. My Fox Philly has the is the story!

Cardinal Rigali's Resignation May Be Accepted Soon

PHILADELPHIA - Pope Benedict XVI is expected to accept Cardinal Justin Rigali's resignation this week, perhaps as soon as Tuesday.
Rigali is stepping down five months after a grand jury report faulted the church for failing to investigate the claims of sexual abuse by priests against children.
The report alleged that as many as 37 priests remained active in the ministry despite credible accusations against them.
The Daily News is reporting that the front-runner to replace Rigali is Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver.

I thought this warranted a fast post!!!

Catholic Charities and Gay Activists

We have always said that giving to a charity is up to the individual.  However, when you are supposed to be a "Catholic Charity", you expect that to be Catholic, not support subversive elements that undermine the teachings of The Church, or give awards to heretics and subversives. (Link)  Catholic Charities does just that.

Catholic Culture has posted another article about the infamous 'Catholic Charities' that all should know.  rather than give a link to the story, we decided to post the entire article here.  Know where your money goes.  This is the reason we say to donate directly to organizations that foster Catholic Values, not lump it together so a group can spend it any way they want.  Here is the article.

Catholic Charities USA works comfortably with gay lobbyist

The Washington office of Catholic Charities USA has contracted with a lobbying firm owned by a noted gay activist, a homosexual-oriented newspaper in the nation’s capital reports.
For the 12-month period ending in April, Catholic Charities USA paid nearly $500,000 to the Sheridan Group, headed by gay activist Tom Sheridan. Although the lobbying group’s work for Catholic Charities did not involve gay-rights issues—it was devoted to anti-poverty campaigns—the Washington Blade story quotes homosexual activists as saying that the Catholic Charities office is sympathetic to their concerns.
Sister Jeannine Gramick, the founder of New Ways Ministry—a group whose work was censured first by the Vatican in 1999 and then by the US bishops’ conference in 2010--gave the Blade this assessment of Catholic Charities USA: “I feel they personally are pro-gay but they can’t do this publicly.”
Source(s): these links will take you to other sites, in a new window.

As you can see, the crap just keeps on coming.  Dump Catholic Charities and dump Catholic Campaign for Human Development CCHD from your donations and DON'T contribute to them in hidden Parish collections disguised as help for your community...a very large percentage of your donations get to the National organization, just like Komen and Planned Parenthood and their Abortion mills. (See photos on right)
CCHD supports SO many groups that are contrary to Catholic Teachings, we can't begin to list them.  BUT, if you want the list, send us an e-mail and we will send you a PDF copy of the list of recipients of CCHD money and you can see for yourselves how many want to kill babies or foster contraception and are supported by your money given to CCHD

Please pray for a return to sanity.

P.S.  We would like to add another Organization to this list thanks to Restore DC Catholicism that also supports and aids Abortion and Alinski Socialism groups and that is Catholic Relief Services.  Just thought you should know.

Michael Voris and "Homosexual Adoption".

This is a MUST SEE video.  In fact, all of his videos are MUST SEE if you are truly Catholic.  Maybe our Bishops should listen to him instead of trying to make him out as least he knows the difference between what the Church teaches and what it DOESN'T teach.  Archbishop Dolan should watch this and be truly sorry for what he and the other "Bishops" (save one) let happen...and stay out of "Gay Masses".  That is SCANDALOUS BEHAVIOR from a Bishop, even if he personally is sympathetic to the "Gay Marriage" cause.

True Immigrants Wanted...History Proves Correct. Again.

Normally we don't get into areas like this, because it doesn't really pertain to Catholic education.  However, this particular point pertains to ALL Americans and therefore also ALL education.

A friend of mine sent me this article about past Immigration.  It is so perfect for today, I decided we would post it.  We have no idea who the author is, so if you can prove you wrote it, we would be very glad to hear from you.  Immigration is such a Hot Button Issue especially when you consider what Congress tried to do with The 'Dream Act'.  What a joke.  It would really be funny if it were not sooooo sad.  Here is the article.  Feel free to comment if you wish.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out  why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented.

Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved goodbye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.

Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France and Japan. None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan. They were defending the United States of America as one people.

When we liberated France, no one in those villages were looking for the French American, the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only AMERICANS. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.

And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.

And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty, it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.

I sincerely hope this letter gets read by millions of people all across our great nation. God Bless America!!

New York Bishops " Failure to Communicate."

Archbishop Dolan says the Bishops did all they could do to fight SSM in NY! (Link NY BishopsIf you believe this, I've got a really big bridge I can sell you real cheap...just like them...CHEAP.  Read the article at the link.  By the way...Dolan left town before the vote.

A famous line from a movie staring a well know actor spoken by a well know character actor went like this:
"What we have here, is a failure to communicate." ( Cool Hand Luke).  For those of you too young to know of this line or the context in which it was spoken, not to worry...the Bishops of New York (save one: Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of Brooklyn) have proven that they subscribe to this completely.    They have TOTALLY failed to communicate about the "gay marriage" issue until it was a "fait accompli".  Now, Archbishop Dolan has come out with a statement lamenting the passage of the "Sodomy Bill".  I find that rather interesting.  Did the Bishops strike a deal with Cuomo to not campaign against the law?  Did any one see anything from ANY of the New York Bishops (save one) prior to the last week of "negotiations" or for that matter, even from the USCCB? No!  Even the Catholic bashing New York Times were stunned by the lack of opposition.  But wasn't that to be expected?   Have a look at Archbishop Dolan presiding at The Church of St. Francis Xavier at the rededication Ceremony June 19, 2010.  Of course this was a "Gay Mass" as is the Parish. Dolan presiding at Gay Mass

What about the rest of the Bishops?  Well, you really didn't expect Hubbard or Clark to say anything did you?  After all, Hubbard was the subject of a very difficult investigation a few years ago about an episode in a bar and if it hadn't been for some fancy footwork, there is no telling what could have come out. And, of course, there is the scandal about the Eucharist to Cuomo.( Link) No need to go into that as the Canon folks are looking into possible ramifications there.  There will be more about Hubbard and Clark coming up on the Blog, but for now, Archbishop Dolan is the topic.

Here is an excerpt from an interview he gave:

On June 25, 2001, the day he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of St. Louis, Msgr. Dolan gave an interview from the North American College in Rome to Zenit Press Service. The topic was “Countering the Myth of the ‘Gay Priesthood.’” Dolan said that the charge of the American media that the priesthood is becoming a “gay profession” was inaccurate and unfair. He admitted that there were homosexually active priests just like there were heterosexually active priests, but he said the priesthood remained a very “manly” vocation......“

In response to a question on how the Church can express its “disapproval of homosexual behavior without being accused of bigotry or hate crimes,” Dolan, currently Chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Priestly Life and Ministry, said that the post-Conciliar Church prefers to accentuate the positive aspects of sexual love within marriage rather than condemn vice.

Is there any doubt as to why the "gay marriage" bill saw such a small amount of adverse publicity from the "Catholic Establishment"?  Even the Archbishop of New York doesn't admit Sodomy is a sin. No "condemnation of a 'vice'."  And by the way, his Bishop in Wisconsin at the time of this statement...none other than Justin Rigali, now Cardinal and Archbishop of Pedophiladelphia.  Link

Soooo, the statement on his it knowing the facts and then take it with a grain or two of salt.Dolan's "afterthoughts"
It is always easier to dismantle from the inside than the outside.  Be vigilant about your Faith and your Church.  A friend of mine has quipped a phrase calling the recent events in Albany "Sodomy on the Hudson".  I would say that pretty well sums it up.  Where were you before the fracas Archbishop Dolan?  Oh yeah...having lunch with the Governor....
